Bologna to Venice with a private driver
A hundred and fifty kilometres of flat road, just under two hours. Then comes the part that surprises first-time visitors: cars do not enter Venice, and knowing where you get out changes the whole day.
In Venice the car stops, and that is fine
Venice has no streets: it has canals and alleys. The only road access is the Ponte della Libertà, and it ends in exactly two places — Piazzale Roma and the island of the Tronchetto. From there you continue on foot, by vaporetto or by water taxi.
That is not a limit of the service: it is the city. What we can do, and do, is take you to the right one of the two, unload the luggage where the transfer is shortest, and tell you in advance what comes next. If you have booked a water taxi, tell us where it is meeting you: Piazzale Roma and the Tronchetto have different landing stages, and getting it wrong with suitcases costs twenty minutes.
For anyone who would rather not deal with the transfer at all — small children, an elderly passenger, a lot of luggage — plenty of people stay in Mestre or on the Lido and go into Venice for the day. In that case the car takes you to the address, full stop.
Marco Polo airport, and the Treviso catch
Marco Polo is at Tessera, on the mainland: there the car pulls up in front of the terminal like at any other airport. It is the simplest case, and one of the most requested on this route — people who fly into Venice and sleep in Bologna, or the other way round.
The flight rule applies: leave us the flight number, we follow the actual landing and waiting starts from there. The driver is in the arrivals hall with a sign, not on the phone from a car park.
Treviso, which several airlines call «Venice», is a different airport and a different distance: it is off the price list, but we quote the exact route. Check the code on your ticket — VCE is Marco Polo, TSF is Treviso.
Cruises: tell us the terminal printed on your ticket
In recent years the berths for the largest ships have been moved out of the historic basin, and «Venice terminal» can now mean several different places, some of them a good way apart. The cruise line’s ticket always states the exact name: send it to us and we take you and the luggage to the right gate.
It is the kind of detail that sounds pedantic until you find yourself on the wrong side of the water with four cases and a boarding gate about to close. If your cruise leaves from Ravenna instead, the cruise port transfer page explains how we handle embarkation and disembarkation.
Venice for the day
Leave Bologna early, the driver sets you down at Piazzale Roma, and the return is agreed for the evening at the same point: this is the most requested arrangement for anyone going to Venice for an exhibition, a conference or simply for the day.
Between the two legs the car does not stay parked in Venice — the conditions for that do not exist — so the return time is agreed in advance. If your programme is open-ended, say so: we keep a margin and adjust with a phone call, rather than making you run for a time fixed the day before.

A fixed fare per car, not per person, agreed before departure. It covers fuel, tolls, parking and VAT.

About Bologna–Venice
Where exactly do you drop me?
At Piazzale Roma or the Tronchetto, the only two points a car can reach. We tell you beforehand which suits you, based on where you are staying and how you continue.
Can you take me to my hotel in Venice?
By car, no — and nobody can: the city has no roads. From Piazzale Roma you continue on foot, by vaporetto or by water taxi. If your hotel is in Mestre or on the Lido, we do take you to the address.
How long does it take from Bologna?
About two hours in normal traffic. On summer weekends and big event days allow another half hour, and we allow it in the time we propose.
Do you serve Treviso airport too?

Is a same-day return possible?
