From Bologna airport to the Adriatic coast

The resorts, and how long it really takes

The coast is not a single point: ninety kilometres of shoreline separate the first lido from the last. From Marconi airport or from Bologna itself, indicative times in normal traffic are these:

• Comacchio and the Ferrara lidi — a little over an hour, the northern stretch with the lagoons and wide beaches
• Cervia and Milano Marittima — about an hour and a quarter
• Rimini — an hour and a half, less if you travel early
• Riccione and Cattolica — a good hour and three quarters
• San Marino — two hours, with the climb up Monte Titano at the end

On July and August Saturdays, and on the late-August return days, the A14 and the coast road stretch considerably: when you book we propose a departure time based on that day, not on the yearly average.

Rimini exhibition centre, conferences and big events

It is not only the sea. The Rimini exhibition centre hosts trade fairs that bring tens of thousands of professionals to the coast — from artisan gelato to the green economy to tourism — and on those days hotels fill up as far as Cesenatico and transfers become the bottleneck of the day.

For exhibitors we do the same as at the Bologna trade fairs: airport transfers for your guests, a car at your disposal for scattered appointments, a repeated hotel-to-venue shuttle and electronic invoicing to the company. Send us the calendar and we will prepare the transfer plan.

In summer you book earlier, and here is why

From June to September demand on the coast concentrates into a few slots: Saturday morning arrivals and Saturday afternoon departures. In those hours local availability runs out, and it is not a question of price.

So we ask you to fix high-season weekends early. If that is not possible, write to us anyway: sometimes we can slot you into a return leg that would otherwise run empty, and then the seat is there. What we will not do is confirm a car we do not have and then cancel on you the day before.

Families, luggage and child seats

On this coast more than anywhere else people travel as a family. Two things worth knowing in advance:

Child seats are included. Type-approved, for every age, at no extra charge. Tell us how many and for what ages when you book: we fit them before collecting you, not outside the airport.

Seats and luggage are two different sums. A van carries up to seven people, but seven people with seven large cases and a pushchair do not fit. Tell us and we will propose the right vehicle — or two, which often costs less than a journey spent uncomfortable. Capacities are on the minibus and groups page.

What it costs

A fixed fare per car, not per person, agreed before departure and covering fuel, tolls, parking and VAT.
