Where we meet, precisely

The station has three ways out, and people call all of them «the exit»: piazza Medaglie d’Oro in front of the historic building, the west side towards via de’ Carracci and the east side. Three different doors open onto three different squares, and anyone who agrees to meet «at the exit» usually ends up on the phone.

So we fix the meeting point in advance, based on the train you arrive on. We write you the street name and a landmark you can actually see, and the driver is there with a sign bearing your name.

If you would rather be picked up somewhere else — inside at a café, or on the street so you do not cross the square with your cases — just say so when you book. It is a normal request, not a favour.

The high-speed platforms are underground

High-speed trains arrive at the underground platforms, several floors below street level. With two suitcases, escalators and lifts, eight to ten minutes can pass between the train stopping and you actually being outside. That is not a delay: that is the station.

We build it into the timing. Give us the train number and we work from the real time you reach the street, not from the arrival time printed on your ticket. And if you are travelling with an elderly passenger, a pushchair or a lot of luggage, the driver comes down to the platform — ask for it when you book.

Station and airport: the alternative to the people mover

The automatic link between Bologna Centrale and Marconi airport works well and is quick. It has two features worth knowing before you choose, though: it is priced per person, and it leaves you at the station — which is almost never your final destination.

For two or three people, with luggage and one more leg still to travel, the numbers close in fast. A car is priced per vehicle, takes the cases and delivers you to the exact address, day or night.

If the train is late

The same rule as for flights applies: give us the train number and we follow the real schedule. Waiting starts from the actual arrival, not the planned one, so a delay neither loses you the car nor costs you a surcharge.

If the delay is bad enough to make you miss a connection — a flight, a meeting — call us. It is often better to change the destination than to cancel, and we restate the price before departure, not after.

Leaving Bologna: what time we pick you up

For a train departing from the underground platforms we suggest being at the station twenty-five minutes before, not ten: enough time to go down, find the right coach and not run. The city centre is minutes away, but at peak times the forecourt is the slowest part of the journey.

Tell us the train and we will propose the pick-up time ourselves. The price stays the one agreed even if the traffic behaves worse than expected: the fare is fixed, not metered.
