Circuit
To the Imola circuit with a driver
Forty kilometres from Bologna, under an hour. On race days, though, the distance matters little: what matters is where you get out and what time you get away.
Race days are a different animal
The Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit sits inside Imola, right beside the town centre and the Acque Minerali park. It is a wonderful track precisely because it is in town — and for the same reason, when tens of thousands of spectators arrive, the roads around it close up.
On big event weekends three things happen, all of them predictable:
- Car parks fill early, and the ones left are a long way from the gates.
- Access roads become one-way or are closed altogether, with routes different from the usual ones.
- Everyone leaves at once, and getting out after the chequered flag is the slowest part of the day.
With a chauffeur car the parking problem does not exist: we set you down at the nearest point permitted that day, and for the return we agree a meeting place outside the bottleneck rather than waiting inside it. That is a decision taken the evening before, not at six o’clock in a queue.
From Bologna, the airport or your hotel
From Bologna itself and from Marconi airport it is forty to fifty minutes in normal conditions, appreciably more on race days. Many spectators sleep in Bologna, because Imola hotels sell out months ahead on event weekends: the daily there-and-back run is our most frequent request.
If you fly in on the day, the flight rule applies: flight number, waiting from the actual landing, driver in the arrivals hall with a sign. Arriving by train works the same way at the central station.
The whole weekend, with the car at your disposal
If the programme runs three days, booking six separate journeys is the most awkward way to do it. The arrangement we use is the car at your disposal: half a day or a full day, with the driver staying with you and adapting to the real timings — which on a race weekend are never the ones on the schedule.
It matters most for groups: corporate guests, clients, delegations. For larger numbers we run vehicles in parallel or use the minibus, with real capacities explained on the minibus and groups page. If you are hosting clients, the corporate terms — open account and electronic invoicing — are on the business page.
Imola beyond the racing, and the Motor Valley around it
Outside event weekends Imola is a half-day town: the Sforza fortress, the historic centre, and the circuit itself, which on free days can be walked or cycled along the track.
It is also the right base from which to widen the trip: we are in the middle of the Motor Valley, and Maranello, Modena or Faenza are all comfortably reachable in a day. In that case we do not add up legs: we quote one price for the programme.
What it costs
A fixed fare per car, not per person, agreed before departure and covering fuel, tolls, parking and VAT.
| Route | Sedan | Van |
|---|---|---|
| Imola | 100–115 € | 110–130 € |
| Faenza | 130–150 € | 150–175 € |
Indicative estimates per vehicle, not per person. Fuel, tolls, parking and VAT are included. The final figure is confirmed in writing before departure.
The price is the same starting from central Bologna, the airport or the station. A day at your disposal is quoted on the programme. Every destination is in the list of routes.
Questions
About the circuit
Where do you drop us on race days?
At the nearest permitted point that day: the traffic layout around the circuit changes for every event. We confirm the exact spot the day before, once the arrangements are published.
How does the return after the race work?
We agree a meeting place outside the outflow area and a realistic time. Waiting inside the bottleneck is the slowest way to leave Imola.
How far ahead should I book?
For big event weekends, as early as possible: local availability sells out like the hotels. For an ordinary day a few hours are enough.
Can you stay with us for the whole weekend?
Yes, with the car at your disposal by the day or half day. For groups we run several vehicles or the minibus, which is arranged on request.
Can we add Maranello?
Yes, it is the same area. Give us the programme and we quote one price for the day rather than adding up individual legs.
Tell us the date and how many of you there are.
We reply with the fixed price and the drop-off and pick-up plan.
