Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Maserati and Pagani all sit within an hour of Bologna. By car you can see them in a day; by public transport, you cannot.
Why with a driver
The factories and museums of the Motor Valley are scattered between the provinces of Modena and Bologna, in small towns that are poorly connected to one another. By train and bus a day barely covers one stop; by car you do three without rushing.
And there is the practical side: nobody has to drive, nobody looks for parking, nobody watches the clock. If a visit runs long, it runs long — the schedule is yours, not a coach company’s.
The stops
- Ferrari Museum, Maranello — the official collection, next to the factory and the Fiorano track. The most requested stop and the one that deserves the most time.
- Enzo Ferrari Museum, Modena — Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace and the modern gallery beside it: pairs well with Maranello, twenty minutes away.
- Lamborghini, Sant’Agata Bolognese — museum and factory, in the province of Bologna.
- Ducati, Borgo Panigale — museum and factory, inside Bologna itself: easy to fit into half a day.
- Pagani, San Cesario sul Panaro and Maserati, Modena — for anyone who wants to go beyond the best-known names.
Tickets and guided tours are booked on the museums’ own websites, and they sell out in peak season: buy them first, then we build the day around the times you hold. We handle the transport, not the ticketing.
A day that works
The route we suggest most often, leaving Bologna in the morning: Maranello for the museum, lunch nearby, Modena for the Enzo Ferrari Museum and the old town, back in the afternoon. With more time, add Sant’Agata.
Many people pair the engines with the table, which here is a few kilometres away: a traditional balsamic vinegar loft, a Parmigiano Reggiano dairy — visited early in the morning, while the milk is being worked — or a hillside winery. They slot neatly between one stop and the next.

For the return transfer alone the fares are these:

Do you buy the museum tickets?
No, you book those directly on the museums’ websites: in peak season they sell out and we do not want to be the bottleneck. We then build the day around the times you hold.
How many stops fit into one day?
Two comfortably, three if they are close together and the visits are short. Maranello and Modena pair well; adding Sant’Agata makes for a full day.
Does the driver stay with us all day?
Yes, on the at-your-disposal basis: car and driver stay where they are needed for the agreed period, and times shift if a visit runs long.
Can we start from the airport instead of the city?
Yes. Many people land at Marconi in the morning, do the tour and fly out in the evening: it is straightforward to arrange, luggage included.
