Pink Chauffeur: a woman at the wheel

Why it exists

On some journeys the problem is not getting there: it is the last stretch. The two hundred metres from the car park to the front door, the taxi taken in a hurry at eleven at night, the three-second decision about whether to get into that car.

It is a calculation half the population makes every time they travel alone after dark, and the other half has never had to make. It is not about fear: it is that nobody should have to think about it in order to get home.

Pink Chauffeur does not fix the world. It does take that calculation out of one journey, and it costs the same as any other.

When people ask for it

• Evening journeys home. After dinner, a late shift, a concert or a missed last train. Door to door, and we do not drive off until you are inside.
• Students away from home. Bologna is a university city and the evening trip home is the first thing parents ask about. Often they book it themselves, from another city.
• Travelling alone on business. Arriving in a city you do not know, sometimes on a flight that lands late in the evening.
• Guests from abroad. For a Middle Eastern client travelling alone or with children, a woman at the wheel is not a preference: it is the condition for getting into the car at all. We are asked for this often, and we are among the few in Bologna who can genuinely provide it.
• Medical appointments. Visits, discharges, check-ups: situations where a female presence is preferred, for oneself or for a relative.

How it works, and what we do not promise

You ask when you book: a line on WhatsApp or in the notes field is enough. You do not need to explain why.

Then the honest part, which matters more than this page: it is a service on request and subject to availability. We do not have a fleet of female drivers standing by at every hour, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What we do guarantee is that the answer comes when you book, not when the car is already outside. If we cannot cover that time slot we say so straight away and you decide: wait, move the time, or go ahead anyway. A broken promise at eleven at night, on this particular service, is worse than never having offered it.

What does not change

The price. No surcharge. The fares are the usual ones, listed in the full route list: the price is per car, not per person, and it includes fuel, tolls, parking and VAT.

The vehicle. Sedan or people carrier, the same ones. Cleaned and sanitised after every job, approved child seats at no extra charge.

Everything else. Flights tracked with 60 minutes of waiting included, bookings 24 hours a day, a fixed fare agreed before departure. Pink Chauffeur is an option within the service, not a separate one.
